La Crosse Symphony Orchestra, along with Mayo Clinic Health System, is committed to encouraging a love and appreciation for music in our area's youth, with a variety of educational programs designed to expose children and young adults to the magic of the Symphony.

Symphony for Youth

Thousands of elementary students get to experience the real symphony for a 45 minute performance with an educational element. This experience brings smiles and a new appreciation for classical music!

Richard Record Rising Stars Concerto Competition

A high-level concerto competition brings the top high school musicians from Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Iowa.

String Scholarships

11 scholarships are available for students from grades 3-11 to audition for each year. Winnings include discounts on lessons with an LSO musician, 2 season ticket packages, and a scholarship for the La Crosse Area Youth Symphony Orchestras upon acceptance.

BGC Violin Lessons

Members of the Boys and Girls Clubs may choose to take free violin lessons taught by La Crosse Symphony Orchestra members.
