INTERMISSION

Frederick Delius: “The Walk to the Paradise Garden” from A Village Romeo and Juliet

Felix Mendelssohn: Symphony No. 4 in A Major, Op. 13, “Italian”

Long one of the most popular and engaging works in the symphonic repertoire, Mendelssohn's eternally-youthful Italian Symphony will follow three more ever-amazing young talents from throughout the region, competing for the top prize with classics from the great concerto repertory. And the rapturous music of  Frederick Delius -- with the dreamy symphonic interlude from his operatic treatment of that timeless tale of young love, Romeo and Juliet -- will definitely chase away the late-winter blues!
