Meet Julius Adams, the LSO’s Newest Fellow
The La Crosse Symphony Orchestra is excited to welcome violist Julius Adams as the newest member of our Fellowship Program for the 2026–27 season!
Thanks to a recent $50,000 Education grant from Love Always, the LSO is able to expand its program and welcome a second Fellow this season. Julius will join returning cellist Titus Gundersen, bringing his experience, talent, and passion for music education to the La Crosse community.
Getting to Know Julius
Originally from Chicago, Julius currently resides in Durham, North Carolina, where he enjoys a busy care
er as a performer, educator, and conductor.
His musical journey has taken him across the country, including a one-year position with the Kansas City Symphony and a place in the inaugural string quartet fell
ow
ship with the Chamber Orchestra of the Triangle. He also regularly performs with professional ensembles, including the North Carolina Symphony and Richmond Symphony.
Beyond the concert stage, Julius has a passion for teaching and helping young musicians grow. His experience as both a performer and educator makes him a wonderful addition to the LSO Fellowship Program.
Making More Music Possible
The LSO Fellowship Program provides emerging professional musicians with opportunities to develop their careers while making meaningful connections throughout our community.
Although we had hoped to welcome two Fellows this season, limited funding initially made that impossible. The arrival of a $50,000 Love Always grant opened the door to expanding the program and inviting Julius to join us.
Through the Fellowship Program, musicians gain valuable orchestral experience, mentorship, and opportunities to participate in music education and community engagement. It’s an opportunity for Fellows to grow professionally while sharing their talents with the next generation of musicians and music lovers.
With Julius joining Titus this season, we’re excited to expand the reach of the program and create even more opportunities to connect people with live music.
Catch Julius on Stage
Julius will perform with the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra at four concerts throughout the remainder of our 2026–27 season:

- March 13, 2027: Rising Stars & The Firebird Suite
- April 3, 2027: Salute to the Big Bands
- May 1, 2027: Sibelius Symphony No. 2
