NEW This Season!
Our 2023-24 season heralded great success with our special 125th Symphony Chorus who performed at the December concert that year. We are continuing our tradition of great musical performance by offering a special 2025 Symphony Chorus for our December 20th concert for the 2025-26 season. This year's chorus is in collaboration with Dr. Chris Hathaway and the UWL Choral Union. Performing Francis Poulenc's Gloria with returning Emily Birsan, this choir will be a top tier event for the La Crosse community and the holiday season.
Translation of the Poulenc "Gloria"
The Gloria dates back to a 2nd-century Greek text. It also appeared in the Apostolic Constitution as a “morning prayer” circa 380 AD. A Latin version appeared in the "Bangor Antiphonary" that was thought to have been written in Northern Ireland around 690. It is still significantly different than the text we use today. The text we commonly use now dates back to a Frankish source in the 9th century.
