2014 Conductor Wannabe Contest Winners!
The winners of the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra’s Conductor Wannabe Contest are: 1st place Bill Lanzel who raised a record breaking $22,418 and 2nd place Father Robert Cook who raised $11,091. Three other contestants were vying for these top two positions, they are: Barb Schultz, Karla Stanek and Brittany Styles & Marco.
Together, the five contestants raised a record breaking $ 50,760. The previous record from 2012 was $47,363. Bill Lanzel will conduct repertoire by Brahms and Father Robert Cook will conduct repertoire by Mendelssohn at the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra's concert on Saturday, April 5, 2014. The LSO is very appreciative to all five contestants and the community for their contribution. The Wannabe Contest was created to provide a competitive environment for raising funds to help support the growth of the La Crosse Symphony Orchestra, as well as to create awareness for the LSO to a new market.
